The Shadow Strays follows Code Name 13, a ruthless 17-year-old assassin for a covert organization called the Shadows. After botching a mission in Japan, she is suspended and returns to Jakarta. There, she befriends a young boy named Monji, who is orphaned when his mother is killed by a local crime syndicate. When Monji is subsequently abducted by the gang, 13 launches a one-woman war, slicing her way through corrupt cops, pimps, and political elites to rescue him.

Good flick to be on netflix. Pacing for the first act seemed a bit off. At first I did not know whose story I’m following between the mentor or protégé. The story within was sad and dark all around. The action was intense, very gory. I notice from this film to The furious, when two characters team up they instantly become a family member. Hey sis or hey uncle during a shoot out, and they barely know each other. I wonder is that apart of the dubbed version or actually set in the original version as well? I like when a heroine of the story is taking out a army of criminals through various of waves and looks believable at the same time. So check this one out if you do also, I hope a sequel gets made.
