The Nutty Professor
Yes, I can!

Brilliant and obese scientist Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy) invents a miraculous weight-loss solution. After a date with chemistry student Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett) goes badly, a depressed Klump tries the solution on himself. Though he instantly loses 250 pounds, the side effects include a second personality: an obnoxiously self-assertive braggart who calls himself Buddy Love. Buddy proves to be more popular than Sherman, but his arrogance and bad behavior quickly spiral out of control.
A Classic that became a Classic from a Classic. This is Eddie Murphy in his prime movie star status. Perfect 90s take on Jerry Lewis’s Original. The story is pretty much formalized, no problem with pacing with 95 min on the clock. The MVP’s of this film is a very young Dave Chappelle, Rick Baker and his team of visual effects make up artist, and Eddie Murphy himself. His comedic genius into playing a whole family, Antagonist, and Protagonist must have been tough. Their’s very few comedic actors can pull off playing multiple characters. Eddie Murphy does it effortlessly. If it’s before your time, go watch it.
