Mickey 17

With each mission, comes another death.

Adapted from the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, this stars Robert Pattinson as an "expendable" - a disposable crew member on a space mission, selected for dangerous tasks because his body can be reprinted if he dies, with his memories largely intact. With one regeneration, though, things go very wrong.

OK, this was an oddball flick. From the characters to the story. Nothing but the norm of legendary director Bong Joon Ho. This is my fourth film viewing of his. The host (which I had on DVD), Snowpiercer, and his best to me... of course Parasite. I see elements of Snowpiercer for sure and his creature design is a bit anime inspired. I wonder if Joon would ever make an animated film or did he in the past? His color scheme in his movies is so distinct. Dig the cast and the characters. Robert Pattinson is a great actor, equally as much as a voice actor. Not that many actors currently bringing on different voices for their characters. I don't know if it was Bong Joon Ho or Pattinson himself to make the choice for how the mickeys sound, even in tone. As I was viewing this, the other actor I could have seen in this role was a younger Johnny Depp. Dope cast, film was decent but not for everyone.
